The election

The conservative movement has suffered a setback in this last election, but, hopefully, it'll use this chance to fallback and regroup.
I had such high hopes for Senator Allen in Virginia, but his smear campaign, I think, left a bad taste in Virginia voters mouth. My own district, Maine district 1, did not disappoint, it's as liberal as ever. It would take a massive paradigm change in Southern Maine to cost Tom Allen the vote, and of course our ever popular "Republican" lady from Maine won again. Snowe:Snowe claims third Senate race

"Snowe, a self-described moderate whose independent streak has sometimes rankled her party leadership, has now been undefeated in three Senate races, eight congressional bids and three runs for the Maine Legislature.

She told supporters in Portland that she'll continue to work to find middle ground to reach solutions to problems, including getting troops home from Iraq."

The results in the senate: 49 49 2, 49 republicans, 49 democrats, 2 independent, but when I read Snowe's plan for Iraq "getting the troops home", it sounds more like 50 democrats, including Snowe. Collins isn't any better, nor is Arizona's McCain. I supported McCain in 2000, before I learned of his liberal leanings. And Collins: When she ran for Governor of the State of Maine in 1994, I wrote in a conservative Candidate; it was the only way to cast a vote for a conservative, with a choice between Collins, King, and the Dem candidate that year.

How bad is the situation, really? With so many liberals having Rs next to the name, we won't know for sure until they vote. It's up to all conservatives to remain vigilant, keep track of voting records of elected officials, and arm ourselves for 2008.

We need to educate the voters of conservative values and plans for the country. Numbers I've read recently cuggest that about 40% are die hard conservative, 40% die hard liberal. We need to reach out to the remaining 20% and educate them, not blind them with propaganda as the liberals do, but see that they are informed and able to independently reach the same conclusions we all have.

Blog

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and blog at Townhall as well. Up to now, I've been blogging at:
Ramblings from the Aisch and Redshad's Xanga Site where I'll probably continue to blog as well.
The Ramblings blog is where I try to present my point reasonably, The Redshad site is where I post random thoughts and incoherent rants.
My views, general:
Second Amendment: I believe that the right of the individual to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed means exactly that, and all gun control legislation currently on the books is unconstitutional.
Homosexuality: is a sin and an abomination against mankind, our Creator's ultimate creatioin.
Islam, War in Iraq: Fully justified, in that we made our bed there by supporting Saddam Hussein in the 80's, now we've got to clean up our mess. Everything else leads back to that. We've also got messes to clean up everywhere in the world where we've supported tyrannical regimes. Also, inevitable: the goal of Islam is world domination, which clashes with our goal of world freedom.
Faith: I am a Christian, I support Israel. I believe that America was founded on principles of Judeo-Christian standards of moral behaviour, and the further away from those standards we wander, the harder the judgement will be when it comes. I feel that all the problems America faces today are directly related to the lack of faith, and the failure of the American people to hold true to God's commandments.

Living here in Germany, I have a first hand view of where America is headed if the liberals continue to gain power. I fear for America, that her people take their liberty too much for granted, are losing their sense of vigilance, and will to fight for liberty.
